Ofsted proposals to downgrade councils that use unregistered placements would hold local authorities (LAs) to an ‘unattainable standard', children's care chiefs have said.
The regulator's consultation on two frameworks – the inspecting local authority children's services (ILACS) framework, including plans to make the use of illegal placements a ‘limiting criterion' in the framework, and the social care common inspection framework covering providers - closed this week.
