Budding entrepreneurs faced their very own Dragon's Den as part of an event organised by Gateshead MBC.

But, unlike the popular BBC2 TV programme, the Gateshead ‘dragons' were not able to offer cash. Instead, they gave practical support and advice.

‘This project is aimed at encouraging private enterprise in the Dunston and Teams area, an part of the borough with some of the lowest business start-up rates,' said cabinet member responsible for the economy, Cllr David Bollands.
