The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) must overhaul its procurement of medical assessment services for benefit claims, the National Audit Office (NAO) has warned.
In April 2013, the DWP plans to introduce a new medical assessment for personal independence payments. However, the NAO has warned the department must produce more reliable referral forecasts and reduce barriers for new suppliers.
