Mystery surrounds the resignation of a former acting assistant chief executive at East Lindsey DC. The council's head of planning and regeneration, ~David Lloyd~ a high-flyer in his mid-20s who had been with the council for three years, quit last week. The Grimsby Telegraph reported last week that Mr Lloyd had been off on sick leave since February, and there had been widespread rumours at the council of how Mr Lloyd felt he had been treated unfairly by certain colleagues. The Telegraph quoted a memo by the director of community services, ~Paul Robinson~ which refuted rumours that Mr Lloyd had been treated unfairly, but also added, ‘prior to his absence and subsequent resignation, issues had arisen'. A council spokesman confirmed that Mr Lloyd had resigned, but would not comment further. Mr Lloyd was acting assistant chief executive for nine months last year during a management reshuffle, and had been in his current post since the summer. Council leader, Cllr ~Jeremy Webb~ declined to comment and said staffing was a matter for council officers. Mr Lloyd was unavailable for comment.
