Slough BC has set up an economic task force to help local residents and organisations cope with the credit crunch and economic uncertainty. The Slough Economic Taskforce (SET), will bring together the council's senior management team and specialist officers and meet weekly to ensure that vulnerable people and small businesses are able to access the advice, resources and support. Council leader, Rob Cllr Anderson, said: ‘I've asked all departments of the council to look carefully at how money is spent and where savings can be made.' Basildon DC has published an economic framework designed to maximise employment and investment opportunities in the local economy by highlighting the value of the area as a business location.
