The leader of the city of Edinburgh City Council has described councillors’ decision to shorten the route of the troubled Edinburgh Tram Project as ‘heartbreaking’.

Labour and Conservative councillors voted against plans yesterday to extend the line to train and bus stations in the city centre and St Andrew's Square.
