Westminster City Council's Labour group leader, Paul Dimoldeberg, claims the council's lack of a schools director and education's low ranking in the council's priorities has led to the authority's lowest ranking in London for the ‘value added' school league tables. The flagship Tory-led authority scored 986.6 in the league table – the lowest in London and third lowest in the country – despite individual success by some schools in the borough. The value-added league table measures the difference each secondary school makes between ages of 11 and 16, including social factors such as deprivation.
