Councils have been urged to demonstrate the true cost of efficiency strategies in the wake of the Comprehensive Spending Review. They needed to put strategies in place which not only delivered improved services but also drove long-term, sustainable savings in terms of costs and staff time, according to IT providers Consilium Technologies. ‘Councils and housing authorities continue to face tough efficiency targets. However, it's critical that any processes put in place are sustainable for the long haul,' said chief executive, Colin Reid.
