Could elections U-turn signal a fight to save LGR?

Cancelling the postponement of elections 'takes U-turns to the next level', says Heather Jameson. And she asks if other councils will follow Norfolk CC by deciding to withdraw cooperation on reorganisation.

Last week's comment pointed out that the Government, despite everything, sometimes gets things right – in that case providing a big cash injection to help ease the pressure on SEND deficits. This week, it may have set out to prove me wrong. 

Postponing elections is never a good look for politicians – particularly when it looks like a move designed to avoid electoral defeat at the hands of Reform. But cancelling the postponement in a move that looks like it was designed to avoid a courtroom defeat, again, at the hands of Reform – takes U-turns to the next level.
