The Government moved into the second gear of its electric car revolution this week with the announcement of funding for local authorities to rollout charging points through the ‘Plugged-in places' scheme.

Councils in Greater Manchester will receive the largest share in the second round of funding. A £9m project in the region – led by Oldham MBC – to install hundreds of workplace and public charge points was awarded a £3.6m grant.
