End of the road for gypsies A report calling for a crackdown on unauthorised gypsy and traveller sites has been launched by the Local Government Association. The report of the LGA’s gypsy and traveller task group also stated that once travelling communities were placed on authorised sites, local councils would be able to ensure they paid council tax. Almost 4,000 unauthorised sites in England account for one-quarter of all sites.
