Local government chiefs have hit out at senior Conservative Party figures over plans to remove councillors' entitlement to town hall pensions.
At the Local Government Association executive meeting on 10 January, Sir Merrick Cockell, chair of the Local Government Association (LGA), criticised recent remarks made by the Conservative Party chairman, Grant Shapps.
