Scotland’s biggest council is being forced to reassess its finances as it feels the squeeze over equal pay. Glasgow City Council, which froze its council tax bill this year, has now admitted it is having to look long and hard at ways to find the extra cash to fund an equal-pay deal for staff. A council spokesman said: ‘What we are doing is looking at a range of options to try and help pay for the outcome of the equal-pay process. We are confident we can find the money in efficiency savings.’
