Councils and housing associations have been advised by the Local Government Association (LGA) to ensure revised policies for allocating social housing are compliant with the Equality Act 2010.

The relaunched Social Housing Equality Framework (SHEF) and Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG) reflect recent changes in equalities legislation, as well as new systems of regulation and inspection for the social housing sector.
