Essex banks on highest reserves

According to figures released by the CLG, Essex CC will hold financial reserves worth £173m.

Essex CC is forecast to hold financial reserves worth £173m, a sum greater than any other comparable local authority, according to figures released by the CLG.

Across England, combined council reserves by the end of the current financial year could reach £10.8bn, the CLG claims.
