Essex CC is investigating a data security leak which has put the details of around 400 of its service-users at risk.

Information, including the names, addresses and financial records of a number of vulnerable residents who have used the authority's support services, were said to have been leaked by a previous member of staff. Essex claimed there was not a malicious reason behind the breach, but it had been forced to contact residents.
