Senior Local Government Association (LGA) councillors have agreed a future operating model (FOM) as the organisation seeks to secure its prospects as the sector's main membership body.
People close to the plans said the change would lead to a cut in staff numbers when the model – designed to ensure the LGA remains a sustainable and effective organisation – is implemented ‘pretty soon'.
