An independent assurance panel formed to ‘support, challenge and advise’ Cheshire East Council’s improvement has failed to produce any progress reports for a year.

An independent assurance panel formed to ‘support, challenge and advise' Cheshire East Council's improvement has failed to produce any progress reports for a year.

The panel was established after a March 2024 Local Government Association corporate peer challenge said the council needed to ‘address a number of significant issues, the most immediate being the organisation's financial sustainability, which is in jeopardy'.
