Executive Director – Finance

Bournemouth is a young energetic town with award winning gardens and beaches. It has cemented a strong national and international reputation as a holiday resort, conference venue, finance and insurance hub as well as a centre for education with universities, colleges and language schools.

We want to be a top performing, efficient council, leading Bournemouth to greater economic prosperity and are looking for an Executive Director for Finance/Business Improvement to help us achieve this ambition.

As an integral member of the Executive team, you will lead in identifying and implementing initiatives to take us forward in our drive for efficiency.

You will provide effective strategic financial guidance and direction to the Council, Cabinet and Leader of the Council. You will be the Council's Chief Finance Officer (Section 151 Officer) and will have a professional accountancy qualification and the skills and experience to promote high calibre financial management throughout the organisation.

You may currently be working in either the public or private sector but will bring with you senior leadership experience, and a proven track record of delivering outstanding results in a complex transforming organisation.
