WORKFORCE

Executive Director, Planning and Environment

Everything about Croydon shouts potential. With a rapidly growing population of over 360,000, speaking over 100 languages, we are a truly diverse borough and London's largest. Despite the long economic downturn, Croydon is still driving forward its regeneration agenda and maximising our locational advantages...but we need to do much more. We are working hard to ensure our young people are equipped with the skills they need for the future as well as helping working age residents fulfil their potential. We need to ensure new businesses are attracted to the borough and existing ones are fully supported. This has to be a borough which is ‘Ready For Business.'

Operating as part of the senior management team, this role will play a key part in delivering these priorities as well as contributing to the corporate leadership of the authority. Leading on our plans for the development of the town and district centres, you will deliver outcomes across a broad portfolio of services. This is a demanding role which will require an individual with strategic insight, political nous, and experience of what constitutes excellence in service delivery. There are a number of major challenges ahead, including taking the town centre through a major transition, retaining and attracting new businesses, and the restructuring of some key environmental services.

You must possess the skills to operate as a key ambassador for the authority with a range of partners and be credible through your high professional capabilities.

If you are ready for business, visit this link to find out more or call our advisors Martin Tucker or Mark Turner on 020 7426 3963 for a confidential discussion.
