WORKFORCE

Executive Director, Regeneration Services

RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW.

Look around Walsall and you will see change. Our businesses, our community and our organisation are being reinvigorated and reinvented in response to some major challenges. Our borough is an engine of innovation and Walsall Council, together with our partners, is leading the way with a series of transformational regeneration projects.

About the role:

Join us as Executive Director of Regeneration Services and you will have the space to shape what is to come. You will deliver new thinking in areas such as the low carbon economy and the skills and infrastructure agenda. You will redefine what it means to renew, react and regenerate.

You will be joining a talented team, collective in their understanding and approach, supported fully by the Council, and seen as leaders within the region. Your aim will be to provide the strategic leadership that will put the right facilities, assets and infrastructures in place now, in order to improve the commercial, economic and social prospects for the future.

You will also lead key areas of corporate activity, delivering integrated approaches that ensure we are able to deliver services that reflect the needs of our citizens, that deliver the outcomes we seek and that do all of that against a background of obvious budgetary challenges.

About you:

Your profile will need to evidence your strategic leadership capabilities, consistent achievement at senior management level in a fast-paced environment and a thorough understanding of regeneration, housing and transport policies, funding approaches and current developments within these areas. Clear-sighted and collaborative, you will be the kind of person who positively embraces innovations and change, and looks towards the broadest view, someone who understands the importance of engaging local people and local businesses. By doing that and creating targeted programmes and responsive services, you will play a key role in enhancing the borough's future business competitiveness at the same time as maximising opportunities for residents to benefit.

To apply:

This is an incredible career opportunity in a place you may never have considered, a place where your thinking and your strategic leadership has the power to ignite success. This is your moment in our history.

Closing date: Monday 25th February 2013.
