Exeter unrepentant on recycling Exeter City Council said it would continue to take action against residents who wilfully contaminated their green recycling bins, despite the failed prosecution against Donna Challice. The 31-year-old Exeter mother-of-three was cleared by Cullompton magistrates of contaminating her green bin with rotting food on Monday (10 July). The council’s lead member for the environment, Cllr Pete Edwards, said: ‘Although we are disappointed with the outcome, we are pleased that this case has raised the profile of recycling, and highlighted the importance of doing so.’
