Government ambitions to advance transparency and openness in public services would benefit from extending the reach of Freedom of Information (FoI) rules, according to the information commissioner.
Information commissioner, Christopher Graham, who participated with Cabinet Office minister, Francis Maude, in a panel discussion at the launch of the second wave plans, said public bodies should be careful in striking the right balance between the public's right to know and an individual's right to privacy.
