A leading finance expert has hailed the Supreme Court ruling on the long-running legal battle over a local authority risk partnership as a victory for ‘common sense'. Last week, Harrow LBC won its court case over the London Authorities Mutual Limited (LAML), after three years of legal wrangling.
The court has overturned a 2009 Court of Appeal ruling that Brent LBC had breached EU procurement rules when it set up the mutual insurance firm with several other London boroughs.
