Plans to deliver a £0.5bn contract for an energy-from-waste plant in Norfolk have been questioned with a debate to be held 'as a matter of urgency'.

Councillors agreed by a vote of 81-1 to hold the discussion on the previous administration's decision to award the 25 year contract to US firm Cory Wheelabrator after Labour, UKIP and the Liberal Democrats' motions placed at the extraordinary meeting have asked officers to produce 'succinct' reports on the need for the EfW facility, which aims to save £8m a year on current waste disposal costs.
