Kent CC leader, Paul Carter, has called for a fairer deal on the railways for the county's commuters.
Cllr Carter said train fares would rocket because the Government has imposed on South Eastern Trains a condition to run a subsidy-free network by 2014.
‘The Government argues that Kent commuters should pay far more than everybody else because South-Eastern fares are lower in comparison with equivalent fares elsewhere, which is totally unproven,' said Cllr Carter.
