Communities and local government secretary Ruth Kelly attended the first Councillors' Commission event this week – and was able to meet one of local government's youngest political activists, seven-week old Claudia. The breakfast debate, organised by The MJ with the support of Tribal Resourcing and the Political Skills Forum, discussed obstacles to attracting younger and more representative candidates to councils. The commission reports back to Ms Kelly in November.
