Chorley BC has appointed Liberata in a seven-year, £5m contract to manage the council's property portfolio. The partnership between Liberata, a provider of outsourced business processes, follows the recommendation of the executive cabinet to the council that it outsource its property services. Liberata will manger the council's portfolio as well as carry out maintenance and improvement programmes. ‘The partnership is fantastic news for the whole of Chorley,' said council leader, Peter Goldsworthy. ‘The council will make significant savings, while attracting major UK businesses to invest in Chorley. The contract will both safeguard existing jobs within the property team and hopefully, create new employment opportunities in the future. I am delighted.' Liberata is working in partnership with more than 20 local authorities to drive efficiencies and cost savings, and currently manages at least 500 properties and controls around £18m of building-related expenditure in the UK.
