The leak of a confidential shortlist for the chief executive's job at Brighton and Hove City Council could affect the applicants' position at their current employers, the council leader has warned.

Cllr Jason Kitcat ordered an urgent internal investigation at Brighton after the local newspaper on the South Coast, The Argus, published what it claims is the all-female shortlist of four candidates over the weekend.
