Fife Council has suspended the right to buy for tenants living in 13 villages to the west of the authority. The local authority is the first in Scotland to suspend the right in more than one area. ‘Fife Council is the first authority to make a second application to suspend the right to buy,' said deputy communities minister, Des McNulty. ‘Once again, it has presented a convincing case, and has provided compelling evidence of substantial pressures on affordable housing in the designated areas.'
