Cumbria Safeguarding Adults Board has succeeded in raising awareness of the abuse and neglect of older people, new figures show.
Across the whole of Cumbria, 506 safeguarding concerns were reported in 2010/11, a rise of 34% from the previous year. People with learning disabilities were the group which saw the greatest increase in abuse, rising from 61 in 2009/10 to 100 in 2010/11.
