Council chiefs have welcomed the news that one pothole was filled every 15 seconds last year.

Council chiefs have welcomed the news that one pothole was filled every 15 seconds last year.

The news comes after an extra £200m has been provided to remedy the problem. Chair of the Local Government Association's economy and transport board, Cllr Peter Box, said: ‘Councils know how strongly people feel about potholes, and have responded by fixing roads at a record rate.'
