Heads of finance in the public sector are increasingly taking strategic roles at board level, according to new research. A study by Siemens Financial Services found they are also increasing their focus on efficiency and their qualifications. It concluded the role across Europe had changed from financial custodian to enabling policy through financial solutions. In the UK, 64% said they had been integrated into decision-making, and 32% said cost saving was now their top priority. The study found 52% had private sector experience.
