County council chiefs are to be grilled over the cancellation of plans for flights to the US from Kent International Airport at Manston. Labour group leader, Cllr Mike Eddy, is seeking to call key figures to a scutiny committee on 21 April to find out why the scheme was cancelled. Cllr Eddy said he believes the council has already spent at least £150,000 on promoting the scheme. Cosmos scrapped the scheme last month, after only selling 600 seats for the new service.
