A report by East Midlands Councils has called for more action to help tackle flood risk in the region. Changing Nature of Flooding, claims a fifth of all the land in the East Midlands is vulnerable to flooding and calls for a national cross-party agreement on flood risk management.
‘The East Midlands has a long, successful history of managing water to meet the needs of people and the environment, but more will have to be done in the future,' said East Midlands Councils vice chair, Cllr Neil Clarke.
