Wigan MBC is celebrating after scoring a maximum of four stars in the corporate assessment ratings from the Audit Commission, which feeds into the CPA framework. ‘This is fantastic news,' said Wigan leader, Peter Smith. ‘We have come through a very rigorous inspection with flying colours.' The council claimed it was one of only two councils so far to be rated with four stars in the assessment, the other being Buckinghamshire CC.
