Football club signs 99-year lease for troubled stadium

Doncaster Rovers Football Club looks set to take over the local Keepmoat Stadium from Doncaster MBC.

Doncaster Rovers Football Club looks set to take over the local Keepmoat Stadium from Doncaster MBC, after the two organisations agreed to finalise plans for a 99-year lease.

Under the deal, the club will pay the local authority an inflation-linked £100,000 a year for a 99-year lease on the site. Doncaster mayor, Peter Davies, explained that the £32m stadium was built in 2006, with the local authority funding £30m of the project.
