Council chiefs have approved the £10m sale of the Fire Service College to business services giant Capita following a long period of doubt about its viability.
Run as a government trading fund since 1992, the 500 acre training centre in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, had been beset by debt and financial issues.
