Wanted: Greater funding fairness

Libraries and youth centres closing, dimmed streetlights, roads plagued by potholes and fewer bin collections – these are now familiar scenes up and down the country.

Years of cuts to local authorities have left our communities in a dire state and the situation is set to get even worse, with 43% of England's 317 local authorities at risk of bankruptcy according to data from the National Audit Office.
