The thorny issue of how to fund public conveniences in Cornwall has propelled local MP, Steve Gilbert, to call on the county council to think outside the box and allow adverts in the toilets to save them from the chop. Quite who would want to advertise their wares in the toilet is anyone's guess (I can think of a few notable celebs, but the lawyers are all over this – Ed), but Diary can see a lucrative market for those wishing to sell water features, kitchen taps and holidays to Niagara Falls.
