Future budgets still unplanned for a quarter of councils, says survey

Almost a quarter of local authorities have yet to develop a strategy to deal with 2014/15 budgets according to a new survey.

Almost a quarter of local authorities have yet to develop or agree a strategy to deal with 2014/15 budgets, although almost half have either implemented one or expect to do so, according to a new survey.

However two-thirds of authorities, 67%, believe they will achieve their budgetary targets in 2014 with only a tiny minority, 3%, saying they will not achieve it, says the survey of 100 councils by Yougov and Interserve.
