The BNP could see a resurgence in support at next month's local elections, according to new research. A study, funded by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, warned up to 25% of voters ‘might' vote for the British National Party, led by ~Nick Griffin~ (pictured, second from right, after his recent court case on race-hate charges) . One of the report's authors, Prof ~Peter John~ of Manchester University, said many voters felt their voices had not been heard by the mainstream parties. His comments follow employment minister Margaret Hodge's comments at the weekend that the BNP could win seats in her Barking constituency. And a separate study by anti-fascist group, Searchlight, said the BNP could swell its number of council seats to a total of 70 on 4 May.
