'£11bn' quango goal

Cabinet Office minister, Francis Maude, has claimed spending on quangos will fall by £11bn a year by 2014/15.

Cabinet Office minister, Francis Maude, has claimed spending on quangos will fall by £11bn a year by 2014/15.

The minister said the reductions were part of a ‘cumulative £30bn reduction over the Spending Review period. He also announced new rules curbing ‘unnecessary or political PR or marketing activity' by quangos.
