Housing 21 has won a £2M a year contract to provide support services to seven Extra Care schemes on behalf of Kent CC. The five-year contract is part of the Better Homes Active Lives PFI, which is providing 275 apartments for older people in new schemes in Kent. Housing 21 is already a partner in the £72m PFI agreement, having signed a deal in 2007 to manage 340 apartments across 13 sites in Kent, including people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Head of Extra Care for Housing 21, Mary Bryce, said: ‘We are pleased to be working with our partners in Kent.' Kent CC cabinet member for Kent adult social services, Graham Gibbens, said: ‘Getting the right care and support will make an important difference for those living in Extra Care schemes. I am confident Housing 21 will work hard to give people the chance to live as independently as possible.' Housing 21 manages more than 16,000 sheltered and Extra Care properties.
