Somerset CC and Taunton Deane BC have signed a deal with IT giant IBM to create a new £400m joint venture company called Southwest One. The partnership will provide a variety of services, including human resources and property services. ‘Teaming up with the councils in this new joint venture, IBM will enable them to deliver significantly improved services to both the authorities and the wider population of Somerset over the next 10 years,' said acting Southwest One chief executive, Richard Jones.
