The leader of Kirklees MBC, Cllr Mehboob Khan, has helped launch a new scheme to help households on low incomes save money on their energy bills and buy low-cost furniture.

Under the ‘Save energy and save' project, any money saved would be invested in the member's Castle & Minster Credit Union account, and put away for later use. ‘The scheme is an excellent example of how small changes can make a big difference in reducing household bills,' said Cllr Khan.
