Charnwood BC has appointed Geoff Parker as chief executive and head of paid services, on an interim basis. The decision was agreed at a full council meeting last month, and Mr Parker will remain in the role until 12 June 2010, or until a permanent arrangement has been made. Mr Parker takes over following the retirement of Brian Hayes in June. Earlier this year, the authority decided to carry on with its procurement with Capita for the outsourcing of council services, after Rushcliffe BC pulled out of a shared services agreement.
