Gittins admits 'technical breach' in consultation over LGA redundancies

The Local Government Association (LGA) has extended its restructure consultation into next month after the organisation initially failed to formally consult with trade unions over redundancies.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has extended its restructure consultation into next month after the organisation initially failed to formally consult with trade unions over redundancies.

It comes after an independent external review of the LGA's restructure plans found what Labour chair Louise Gittins called a ‘technical breach' in the way the consultation was carried out.
