Government delays mean councils will face financial time pressures

With the Government now confirming the Budget will be on 26 November, the local government finance policy statement will arrive a month later than planned.

After much anticipation, the Government has now officially confirmed its Budget will be announced on 26 November.

This means that the local government finance policy statement – a guide for councils to plan budgets ahead of the settlement – will arrive a month later than planned, in late October/early November with the Fair Funding Review 2.0 consultation (FFR) response.
