The Government is prepared to bring in local profit caps to rein back private providers of children's placements and temporary housing, communities secretary Steve Reed has said.

Speaking at New Local's Stronger Things festival of community power at the Guildhall in London on Tuesday, Reed said too much of council's budgets ‘is being siphoned off by private equity firms and corporate investors'.
